you will have full hair again – also in the forehead area.
Beautiful hair is a dream of all women. But nature does not always conjure up enough splendour on all parts of the head. If a high forehead is added, even the right hairstyle doesn’t help: hair loss is a topic of profound concern. In this case, when looking in the mirror, many think to themselves “High forehead, man what to do?”.

The loss of every single hair on the scalp is viewed suspiciously. The pressure of suffering grows the higher the hairline becomes. Many women would like to reduce the high forehead. Now the good news: hair transplantation is also possible for women with high foreheads!

What are the causes of hair loss in women?

In the course of their lives, women often come into contact with the issue of hair loss. This can be caused by heredity or occur as diffuse hair loss. In diffuse hair loss, the hair falls out evenly all over the head; hereditary hair loss affects the area of the crown or the high base of the forehead. The causes can also be hormonal – pregnancy, breastfeeding or the menopause influence hair growth.

Reasons for hair loss with a high forehead

  • Hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia)
  • Medical causes
  • Medication causes
  • Thyroid disease
  • Connective tissue disease
  • Wrong diet (anorexia, radical diets)
  • Zinc and iron deficiencies
  • Over-supply of vitamin A

Where is the hair taken from for a hair transplant?

During the procedure, the hair surgeons at  remove the hair roots to be transplanted from the back of the head.

The hair at the crown of the head is particularly strong and naturally designed to grow for a longer period of time. First, the units for hair transplantation are taken from the donor area, then assistant teams prepare the hair root units under high-resolution screen microscopes. From collection until hair transplantation, the follicular units (Fus) are stored in a nutrient solution. This immunises against growth disorders. Afterwards, the specialists prepare the recipient area or the scalp with tiny openings. The hair follicular units are transplanted and sprayed with a bioregeneration solution.

Is the hair transplantation performed under anaesthesia?

No, only a local anaesthetic is used for the procedure. Patients are responsive during the entire treatment and can, for example, listen to music on the iPod if they wish or eat and drink something during short breaks. Of course, going to the toilet is also possible. Many patients report that they find the treatment as relaxing as a more extensive visit to the hairdresser.

Do scars remain after a hair transplant?

No extensive scars remain; only punctiform microscars on the back of the head.

The experts  perform hair transplantation largely without scars. The FUE technique in particular is minimally invasive – i.e. very gentle on the skin and tissue.

The reason for this is the ultra-modern HyRO device, which has a very fine tip of only 0.8 to 0.9 mm. In contrast to classic FUE devices, this tip does not rotate around its own axis, but moves in a semi-circular oscillating motion. At the end of the tip there is a rounded bulge instead of sharp knives. The instrument penetrates less deeply into the skin when extracting the hair. HyRO thus minimises the risk of damaging hair root units. Healing is promoted and the formation of the small microscars is reduced.

How long does a hair transplant last? And how long does the hair stay?

The results of a hair transplant are permanent.

It is good to know that the hair root goes into a natural resting period after the hair transplant and the freshly transplanted donor hair falls out first. The hair roots that are taken from the donor area at the back of the head form new hair again. Afterwards, the hair grows again and vigorously.

Where is the best place to have a hair transplant?

It is advisable to have it done by experienced specialists or teams of doctors who are specialists in this field. There are always companies that offer hair transplantation under the motto “health trip” (e.g. hair transplantation Turkey). Such trips are often associated with stress and strain, which can also have a negative effect on the healing process. Therefore, we recommend treatment in Germany or Austria.

Sophisticated medical treatments require experienced specialists. Specialists in aesthetic and plastic surgery and specially trained medical teams pay careful attention to the highest medical standards and have the know-how to perform a hair transplant successfully.

You should consider the following criteria when making your choice:

  • Does the doctor specialise in hair transplants?
  • How many treatments has he performed?
  • Does the doctor offer post-treatment care/monitoring?
  • Get an idea of the clinic or the treatment rooms in advance: What does the equipment look like? Is hygiene a priority?

How long is a hair transplant visible?

hair transplant
Many people want to know how long the traces of a hair transplant are visible. The experts provide an almost scar-free hair transplant, but the hair is shortened.

With the FUE technique, the hair of the back of the head is shaved to one millimetre; the partial shave can be easily transformed into a stylish hairstyle, especially for men. In the first few days after the FUE treatment, small, punctual micro-scars are visible. A groundbreaking method is the FUE Long Hair method, here shaving can be completely dispensed with.

With the FUT technique (strip method), the hair is shortened to 3 millimetres in the small area of the removal site, but the site is well concealed by the remaining hair and is therefore hardly visible. Of course, it is possible that relatives and colleagues will notice the shaved area during the first weeks after the treatment.

Will the hair be shaved before the hair transplant?

The necessity of shaving the donor area (back of the head) is primarily determined by the chosen harvesting technique. With the FUT technique (“strip method”), a narrow strip is taken from the hair crown (donor site) – exclusively in this small area, the hair is cut back to a length of approx. 3 mm. The rest of the hair is not affected. Your overall hair appearance is completely unchanged after removal using the strip technique, as the remaining hair covers this narrow line.

For FUE treatments (“single hair removal”), a complete shave of the back of the head is usually required, as this favours the quality of the removal and prevents damage to the hair root units removed.

When will I be fit for work and social life again?

From a medical point of view, you are fully fit for work and social life within 24 hours. Nevertheless, we recommend physical rest for a few days. Many patients prefer to take the day before and the day after the treatment off.

In any case, in sports, a longer rest period of about three weeks applies after hair transplantation. Depending on the size of the treated area and the length of the hair, no external signs of the treatment are visible after only a few days.

When can hair be coloured after a hair transplant?

After the hair transplant, it is important to give the hair a rest period of two to three months. Then you can colour or style your hair in the same way as before.

As the transplant is a redistribution of your own hair, its structure and growth are the same as those of the original hair. We advise you to have your hair coloured by a hairdresser in the beginning and to look for more natural ingredients with few chemicals.
